Senate passes resolution formally recognizing Armenian genocide


The Senate on Thursday unanimously handed a decision recognizing the Ottoman Empire’s mass killing of Armenians a century in the past as genocide, a transfer that aggravated already-tense relations between Turkey and the U.S.

Sen. Bob Menendez, D.-N.J., handed the decision, which supplies “official recognition and remembrance” of the genocide, in line with The Hill.
