LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas Freeway Fee on Thursday named a longtime state Transportation Division worker as the primary girl to guide the company.
The fee named Lorie Harris Tudor because the division’s new director, succeeding outgoing director Scott Bennett. Bennett on Wednesday introduced he was retiring efficient March 20.
Tudor started her 36-year profession with the division, then referred to as the state Freeway and Transportation Division, in 1981 as a clerk typist. She resigned in 1995 and returned to the division in 1998 after incomes her bachelor’s diploma in civil engineering kind the College of Memphis.
Tudor has served because the division’s deputy director and chief working officer since 2014.
Tudor’s appointment comes as freeway officers and Gov. Asa Hutchinson marketing campaign for a proposal on the autumn poll that might lengthen a half-cent gross sales tax for state highways.
