Union urges DCCC to cut off support to Dems who voted against pro-labor bill – Raw Story

The Communications Employees of America, a labor union with 700,000 members, referred to as on the Democratic Congressional Marketing campaign Committee this week to chop off assist to the seven Home Democrats who “betrayed working folks” by voting in opposition to a pro-labor invoice that handed the Home earlier this month.

The Democrats who voted in opposition to the Defending the Proper to Arrange (PRO) Act—which might remove state-level “right-to-work” legal guidelines and broaden staff’ bargaining rights—are Reps. Henry Cuellar (Texas), Stephanie Murphy (Fla.), Lucy McBath (Ga.), Kendra Horn (Okla.), Kurt Schrader (Ore.), Joe Cunningham (S.C.), and Ben McAdams (Utah.).

“They have to be denied the assist of the Democratic Social gathering for refusing to face with working Individuals,” CWA president Christopher Shelton wrote to DCCC chair Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-In poor health.) in a letter (pdf) dated Feb. 18. “I urge the DCCC to not present companies for any incumbent Home members who flip their again on working folks.”

“We’ve no tolerance for anti-worker electeds,” CWA tweeted Thursday.

McBath, Horn, McAdams, and Cunningham are all freshmen in toss-up seats, Politico reported Wednesday.

Cuellar, a Koch-backed Democrat who has voted with President Donald Trump almost 70% of the time, is dealing with a troublesome major problem from progressive legal professional Jessica Cisneros in Texas’ 28th District.

Cisneros has racked up union endorsements and almost $1 million in donations regardless of the DCCC’s blacklist coverage, which cuts off funding and assist for distributors that help Democratic major challengers.

CWA District 6 endorsed Cisneros final October.

“Jessica simply exemplifies the sort of individual we’d like extra in Congress,” Shane Larson, senior director of presidency affairs and coverage for CWA, advised The Intercept this week. “It’s one factor for our union to wish to see Henry Cuellar changed as a result of he votes with companies and Wall Road time and time once more, however Jessica is basically such an outstanding individual and phenomenal candidate, and he or she represents the type of people that simply shouldn’t have illustration in Congress as we speak.”
